Paradise of Isabela

PALANAN

The last frontier of the Philippine Revolution where visitors may visit the Aguinaldo Shrine - the historic place where Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo was captured by the American forces in 1901. Palanan is home to a number of world-class beaches with fine white-sand and crystal blue waters. These beaches include Culasi Beach, Kanaipang Beach, and Dicotcotan Beach. Falls ideal for picnics are Dicarangayan Falls, Diminalno Falls, Disadsad Falls and Sisangkilan Falls.

DIVILACAN

Endowed with diverse culture, Divilacan is inhabited by many endangered species of flora like the jade vine, pitcher plant, mangrove forests, mossy forests and many more. The thick forests give shelter and nourishment to wildlife in the area like the deer, wild boar, monkeys, rare snake species, flying foxes, among others. Its marine resources include diverse seafood like weeds, crabs, lobsters, prawns, varieties of fish, shells and other marine creatures like dolphins, seaturtles, and humback whales.

MACONACON
DINAPIGUE

Dubbed as the Lobster Capital of the Province and Philippine Eagle Nesting Site, Maconacon has high potential in ecotourism development with a number of sites ideal for surfing, snorkeling and other water activities.

Dinapigue is located on the eastern site facing the Philippine Sea, 98% covered by forestland, the primary livelihood of the residents is rice farming. Meanwhile, its coastal area is a vast source of various fish and fishery species that provide livelihood and additional income to its residents. Its beaches, with its white sands and crystal clear waters, are yet to be discovered.

Abuan

Isabela's Abuan River is the Philippines' Next Big Whitewater Destination. The sixty-five kilometres (65 km.) Abuan River is the main river channels inside the 50,625 hectares Abuan Watershed and located at the Municipality of Ilagan, Isabela. The headwater of the said river are located inside the Northern Sierra Madre Natural Park which one of the oldest and richest forest in the country and from within it is a verdant vision of plant and animal life – where Philippine eagles (Pithecophaga jefferyi) soar. To spare the Abuan Watershed and its river from deforestation, The Provincial Government of Isabela, Municipal Government of Ilagan and World Wide Fund for Nature – Philippines (WWF – Phil.) implement a river based ecotourism program aimed at protecting the Abuan watershed and at the same time providing source of livelihood to former loggers/bugadores. The two-day Abuan Tour Package is composed of kayaking, rafting, wall climbing, trekking, picnic and swimming at Sulimanan Falls.

Ilagan Sanctuary

The ILAGAN Sanctuary is the major tourist spot in Ilagan; it features nine-chambered cave in the size of a chapel. It was made famous for its stalactites and stalagmites, together with its naturally formed lattices and shining rocks of different sizes and shapes that glow like crystals in the dark. It is a portion of Fuyot Spring National Park that is comprised the Northern Sierra Madre National Park. The caves was discovered by local residents in the 16th century and named it after Queen Victoria who reined Britain during that time.

Crocodile Farm

One successful agricultural entrepreneur is Floresma Dacuycuy, owner of the Isabela Green Valley Farm in Brgy. Sillawit.  Her property is clad by dazzling orchids, ornamental plants and bountiful fruit-bearing trees. You can hand-pick her fruit, and learn how to plant and grow them. You can also take home her exotic orchids, ornamental plants, bromeliads, and even fingerling prawns.

CROCODILE FARM

CALVARY HILLS and the
CHAPEL OF TRANSFIGURATION

CALVARY HILLS and the CHAPEL OF TRANSFIGURATION – located at Dariok Hills, Barangay Balintokatok in Santiago City. The place offers a pilgrimage venue for the Holy Week where life-size Stations of the Cross are presented from the foot of the hill going all the way up to the top where a  Chapel  was so designed to face the rising sun. The Chapel of Transfiguration offers pilgrims a commanding silence befitting a place of worship and can also be utilized for masses and retreat venues.
